Tanzania and Mozambique to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation in strategic Sectors
The governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and Mozambique have expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector and other strategic areas to promote the development of their citizens.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, and the Ambassador of Mozambique to Tanzania, H.E. Ricardo Mtumbuida, expressed this commitment during their meeting and discussions on 18 February 2026 at the Ministry’s sub-office in Dar es Salaam.
The discussions focused on identifying areas of further cooperation between the two countries with the aim of advancing health diplomacy, promoting economic growth, and discussing preparations for the Joint Permanent Commission meeting expected to be held in Tanzania this year.
On his part, H.E. Ambassador Kombo also welcomed Mozambican citizens to benefit from the specialized and expert health services available in Tanzania as part of fostering historical solidarity and cooperation between Tanzania and Mozambique.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Mozambique to Tanzania, H.E. Ricardo Mtumbuida, thanked Tanzania for the ongoing brotherly cooperation benefiting his country, emphasizing Mozambique’s intention to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations with Tanzania to promote the welfare of citizens of both nations.
