Udzungwa National Park
Brooding and primeval, Udzungwa is a verdant refuge of sunshine dappled glades enclosed by 30 m high trees, their buttresses layered with fungi, lichens, mosses and ferns.

Bordered by the Great Ruaha River to the north and the Mikumu-Ifakara road to the east, the major attraction of the park is its bio-diversity and unique rainforest with many rare plants that are not found anywhere else in the world. Udzungwa is also home to about six types of primates, including the Iringa red colobus monkey and the Sanje crested mangabey, two endemic and endangered species. Not a conventional game viewing destination, Udzungwa is a magnet for hikers.
